An autumn day in Val Veny (Italy, north-west Alps), after the rain the sun suddenly dispelled the cloud and changhed the Val Veny in a Tolkien-shire, I was waiting only to see a Hobbit by my side :-)

The "Levanne" (on the left) are trhee west-Alps peaks united by a single ridge over 3.500 metres (3.555, 3.619, 3.593). The Leità lake at about 2.700m above sea level is one of the lakes that punctuate the high Orco Valley, between Piedmont and Aosta Valley in the sector of western Alps called in Italy "Alpi Graie". The Gr. Rousse (3.607m), on the right, is one of the higher peak in this zone.

The Ciarforon (on the left, 3.642m) and the Becca di Monciair (3.544m) are two peaks in the massif of Gran Paradiso in Italy and are inside the Gran Paradiso National Park, in the west italian Alps. The ridge that runs along the two peaks arrives from the summit of Gran Paradiso (4.061m) and the Tresenta (3.609m) and is the border between the two regions in wich the Gran Paradiso national park extends: Piemonte and Valle d'Aosta. In the foreground you see the Rosset Lake (2.700 above sea level).
